Today I’m going to talk to you about improving the tempi changes.
One of the best exercises to work on your tempi changes is to work on your simple changes.
Start on the diagonal working on simple changes, whatever problems you gave in your simple changes, you’ll have in your tempi changes.
I’m working on getting the simple changes really on the aids, where they stay round and through in the simple change. And then once I’m really happy with my simple changes, I can start with my flying changes.
Make sure that you have good corners, a good short stride, get your horse straight, and then start the changes. If you don’t have a good quality of canter, you’re not going to have a good flying change. So I’m thinking about having a good preparation and a good canter quality in between every single change that I ride.
Watch the video where I demonstrate this and let me know if you find it helpful!
Happy Riding!
