Spring is on the way, and I know that a lot of times, this can mean we’re getting back in the saddle after time off! Our horses might be feeling a little fresh, and maybe we need a little confidence boost as we’re getting back into our regular routine. If you have been struggling with confidence with your horse, to canter your horse, or need help getting back into riding this spring, I have some awesome resources for you in this Amelia Newcomb Dressage Newsletter!

Rider Position Blueprint Recap
I’ve always been a big believer that if you can improving your position is the number one way to fix your training problems and improve your riding. So last year, I decided to come up with an all-new course – The Rider Position Blueprint! But this program wouldn’t be like any of the regular rider fitness or rider position programs out there – it would be unique in that it combined ridden rider position exercises and also rider fitness exercises out of the saddle all in one package! The first cohort of students are starting to go through the program right now and I am so excited to see their progress!
Meet Strides Member Tammy
Each month, I like to highlight one of my Strides Student Members, so we can celebrate their successes and progress along their journey! This month, let’s get to know Tammy from Wisconsin, USA.
“I am so grateful that my daughter told me about Amelia approximately 5 years ago! I was struggling to remember what my trainers told me during lessons and was embarrassed to often work on the same things every lesson. After I found Amelia and her helpful videos, I felt like I was able to improve faster and understand what I was being asked to do at lessons. I really like Amelia’s videos where she rides the dressage tests and I love listening to her ride along podcasts on the way to the barn.”

Improving Your Stretch Circle Scores
Are you showing First Level this year or getting ready to move up to First Level? One common movement in the First Level tests that I see riders struggling with is the stretch circle. This is a tricky movement because it really tests your horse’s longitudinal and lateral suppleness as well as the riders’ balance…then on top of that, the show environment doesn’t make it any easier. If you need help with your stretch circle, check out this video that I did with Nicole, licensed EC “B” Dressage judge on how to practice and improve your stretch circle to set you and your horse up for success in the show ring! Watch the video here.
