Serpentines are a great exercise to work on suppleness and to get your horse focused, bending, and on the aids! Sometimes, especially, when you are first learning how to ride a serpentine, it can be very difficult to visualize what exactly the serpentine should look like! The 3 loop serpentine shows up in Training Level Test 3 and the judges are very picky about the accuracy of the figure and showing a clear change of bend!
Here are a few tips to help you improve your 3 loop serpentine:
- A 3 loop serpentine is 3, half 20 meter circles
- Be sure NOT to ride any corners or straight lines in your serpentine
- Change your posting diagonal each time crossing the centerline
- Show a clear change of bend when you cross the centerline
