I’m at the World Cup in Omaha and we’re having an amazing time. It is so incredibly inspiring to see all the top riders and horses and to meet many of you in person. Yesterday we hosted an IN-PERSON event on Rider Position. We had nearly 200 people attend LIVE and the energy in the room was incredible. Hearing your stories and how I have helped you with your horses is inspiring and very emotional. Thank you!
During the lecture (which I will share later) we were lucky enough to have Steffen Peters and Anna Buffini come for interviews.
It was inspiring to hear the behind-the-scenes from these two incredible riders on what it is like to compete at the top of the sport. It is humbling to hear these riders talk about the importance of the basics and rider position. They both stressed riding from the seat with simple and light aids and prioritizing suppleness and relaxation above all else. You could tell from the interviews that they both love and care an enormous amount about their horses and do everything to make sure their horses are happy and healthy.
I also loved hearing about the mental side of training and competing. Both Anna and Steffen discussed how to mentally prepare for a test – and deal with setbacks and disappointments.
I want to say a big thank you to Anna and Steffen for taking the time out of their busy schedule to come speak with us. Thank you to everyone who attended the event live. We will share the lecture on rider position later this week… I just could not wait to share these interviews with you!
Good luck to Anna, Steffen, and everyone else in today’s freestyle!
Happy Riding!
Amelia
