Have you fallen off recently?
Here’s a roadmap for rebuilding confidence.
If you’re like me then you’ll probably agree that riding horses is just about the most amazing feeling in the world, but that much joy has an occasional bruising price that we ALL know about!
If you’ve recently had a “technical dismount” and it’s knocked your confidence, here’s a 5-step plan you can follow to make sure that your fall stays on the ground, and doesn’t get in your head!
1️⃣ Assess.
Check yourself and see how you’re feeling. Decide if you’re physically ok to get back on your horse. Psychologically it’s definitely better to get back on.
2️⃣ Analyze the trigger.
Figure out WHY your horse reacted and you ended up on the ground! Identify the pain point and…
3️⃣ Come up with a plan.
The next few sessions you have after that fall are critical so plan them well. If you can, enlist some help t to help you get the horse going again.
4️⃣ Get on, and move on.
You’ve done the homework so it’s time to get back on and move on with your riding journey. Don’t let it trouble your mind anymore sweep it onto the muck heap of your mind.
5️⃣ Oh one more thing! If you fell on your head, BIN YOUR HELMET! They’re only designed to protect you for one impact.
❤️🩹 Falls will always happen so if you’ve had one recently I’m so sorry, and I definitely can sympathize!
Watch this video where I talk you through in more detail I hope that you can use these to reestablish your confidence.
Thanks for watching and safe riding!
