A month of being thankful and remembrance.
November is a month of being thankful and taking the time to remember. With both Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving, it reminds me to be thankful for all the wonderful things in my life: my community, my horses, and my family. No matter where you are in the world, thank you for being a part of making this community positive, and bright, I wish you the best this season.
I have a few quick updates for you as we go into this month.
You’re invited! Tomorrow’s Webinar.
Tomorrow I am hosting a FREE webinar: Trust & Communication through Groundwork. In this webinar, you will learn how to: read and understand what your horse is thinking, communicate with your horse, and develop a relationship based on trust & harmony. Can’t come tomorrow? Don’t worry- I can send you the recording after. Get all the details and save your seat here.
Have you tried any ‘no stirrups’ for November yet?
This month has traditionally coined “No Stirrup November” but how can you actually make the best use of this month? I have a great video that I just released that goes into some great tips. Plus- I have a fun, positive, challenge going on right now in Amelia’s Dressage Club (and it’s free to participate), simply post a photo or video of you riding without stirrups with the hashtag “#nostirrupsnovember” in Amelia’s Dressage Club and let us know a little bit about what you felt when you were riding without stirrups. The winner will be announced at the end of November and receive a Kastel Denmark sun shirt with my logo! Check out my video on riding without stirrups here.
Are you in Galway Downs, CA this December?
I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to ride with many great coaches throughout my career. I am excited that I will be adding Ingrid Klimke to the list, as I have been selected to ride with her in the Galway Downs Masterclass this December. I am starting to organize an informal gathering for my community that same weekend. Everyone is welcome!
Strides Member of the Month
Each month, we profile one of our Strides Students, so that everyone can get to know each other a little! This month it is Ellen Ziemer from North Carolina, who has been breeding horses since she was a teenager. Read more about her story here.
Gift-giving season is coming
The holiday season is just around the corner. I have some great Kastel shirts and other items in my ‘Dressage by Amelia’ store. Shopping here both supports my production of free educational videos and showcases your “Dressage for All” spirit! Check out my store here.
Behind the Scenes with me on Patreon
I tend to keep my personal horses and life on the down low. I don’t do it intentionally, I just think that everyone would rather learn about Dressage and education rather than about my personal story. So I focus on that on my channels. But there are some members of the community who want to see more about Harvey, Kensington, and Luigi, which is why I have a Patreon channel just for them! Patreon members get exclusive videos, hear news before everyone else, and can support my mission for “Dressage for All” directly. When you join your small monthly contribution allows me to produce my free weekly videos and allows everyone to access quality dressage education. Check out my Patreon profile here.
Sidelines Magazine
I am incredibly blessed and flattered to be featured in the October issue of Sidelines Magazine (and Harvey was a cover model!). Sharing my story and journey is special, but seeing it in print was amazing. And to be on the cover was more than I could ever imagine. A big thank you to Sidelines for sharing my passion and supporting my mission to provide “Dressage for All”. You can read the full article here Check out this Cover Model for Sidelines Magazine! – Amelia Newcomb Dressage
Upcoming Videos
Each week I put out a new, free educational video. I have some great videos coming up such as “How to Create & Ride a Freestyle”, “Find a Steady Contact”, “Three Canter Exercises for Eventers” and more! Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel so that you never miss a video.
Clinic Wrap Up!
In October, I was invited to facilities in Colorado and Utah to teach and I had an amazing time! I love being able to share my passion with others and teaching is so fulfilling. I’m a little sad to be home now for the rest of the year, but I’m already starting to work on my 2024 calendar. I have a limited number of clinic slots available and if you would like to host a clinic, please fill out this form. I’d love to hear about your barn family and potentially work together.
Black Friday Teaser
I’ve had a few questions about how I am celebrating Thanksgiving weekend…well, specifically, what are my plans for Black Friday. And while I’m not a big shopper, I do have a special plan for content coming out that weekend. So be sure to stay tuned as it will only be available that weekend!
